Finally!!!
It's nearly time to shut off all the lights, turn the ringer off on the phone, chuck the cat outside and let the kidlet know that unless the house is on fire, I am not to be disturbed between 8pm and 9pm tonight. It's been a long, agonizing wait full of frantic fans who didn't get the news about the break, Fresh Kiefer on the big screen, a bit of blogging here and there, and a total rewatch of the entire season up until tonight's episode.
When we last left 24, Gael had not managed to get his hands on the detonator (after a cringing attempt to reach it under a giant moving fan blade) and it went off in his face, sending virus dust up into the ventilation shaft of this large hotel. Michelle is locked inside the building with Gael, a few other agents and Marcus Alvers (who set up the detonator.) Michelle and Tony did not part well when she left to head the team going to the hotel so here's hoping we have some angst between her and her hubby who's also balancing trying to run Jack's operation that's done nothing but go horribly wrong at nearly every step of the way.
Jack was left at the funky nightclub where he'd just taken down weenieboy Amador (sheesh, cannot even take a little nick on the hand from a man who, just hours before, had been shot through the hand. Wuss.) Jack learned Amador had already passed the virus on to some bloke who seems to have a grudge against Jack and if I remember correctly there were eleven or so vials of virus-(viruses? Virii? What is the plural of virus?)- in the case he left with. Ruh-roh.
President Palmer is about to enter that tiny space between a rock and a hard place once he learns what really happened when Sherry went over to Alan's.
According to Kiefer last night on Leno, he stated that he and the rest of the 24 gang are most proud of the next seven episodes than they are of anything they've done to date. And if going by the critics' reviews of the next three, we're in for a hell of a ride to the finish.
