The past catches up
So as Martha is doing her duty to the country, Jack and Aaron work with Novick and Chloe to get Jack on board the President's helicopter as one of the pilots. This requires some quick faxing and scanning on Novick's part but they get it done. One of the pilots enters the building and Jack quickly dispatches him (humanely of course. Just a quick squeeze to the neck - sans thighs unfortunately - and he's out cold), gets his papers and off he goes to the chopper.
Soon Logan and a couple of agents are on board and they take off. Once they're away from the compound Jack threatens the pilot by telling him he can either just keep flying or he can die and jack will fly it himself. Tough call there. He keeps flying. Jack moves to the cabin area, tasers the SS agents, cuffs Logan, and just sits and stares at Logan. Just sits... and stares. It was magnificent watching Logan squirm under Jack's icy glare.
The chopper lands, Jack tasers the pilot and leads Logan into an abandoned building. Logan whines and squirms some more because he doesn't know what Jack's going to do. He foolishly offers Jack money. He tries to make a deal with Jack. Pffft. Loser. As Jack readies Logan by searching him and removing everything in his pockets and cuffing him to a pole, Chloe's ex-hubby shows up with the equipment he helped modify. In a brief, cute moment there, he spies Logan cuffed to the pole and nonchalantly tells Jack Chloe wants him to call her. You kind of had to see it to know what I mean but it made me giggle.
Anyway, Jack sets up his equipment - video and audio feed etc. - while Logan tries to tell Jack he won't crack under pressure but even if he did it wouldn't hold up because anyone would say whatever Jack wants while being tortured. He knows he's being recorded. Jack begins interrogating him, telling him that he has no plans to torture him. Just kill him if he doesn't get what he wants. And he's very convincing. Jack pulls up a chair close to Logan and tells him a little story. A story of how he was warned 18 months ago that he was in danger - danger that led him to fake his death and lose contact with his only daughter. He tells the President that he knows that danger was Logan. He also tells him that if Logan thinks Jack will hesitate to put a bullet in his brain, then he doesn't know him. (Hehe, he doesn't know Jack.)
Jack gives Logan to the count of three to confess and he counts off. But when he gets to three, Jack fails. He fails. He can't pull the trigger. And then Secret Service arrive and Jack gives himself up quietly. It was sad. But a I'm rewatching this scene knowing what I know about the ending, I see Logan begin to put everything Jack pulled out of his pockets back into his pockets. I didn't catch that the first time :)
So Jack is taken away and Logan continues on to the airport and his appearance by Palmer's coffin is just sickening. As Martha waits for him, Novick sidles up and lets her know Jack failed. She's crushed. As she goes to stand by Logan for photo ops, Martha starts to crack. The site of Logan pretending to care about Palmer is the proverbial straw and she just loses it. She begins screaming about him being a murderer and all the other accusations. Agents haul her off to a nearby hangar. and Logan follows to "check" on her.
But what he really does is hit her (bastard!) and after searching through her things for recording devices they have quite the shouting match. She screams her accusations at him and he actually defends his actions (and admits to them.) Then he threatens Martha by telling her he'll load her up with drugs and have her committed for the rest of her life.
And I'm going to wreck the momentum here to mention during the break here that for the first time in my life, I had to rewind a commercial and watch it again. It was a Sprint cellphone ad that quite frankly made me laugh harder than I've laughed in days. I'm not going to recap the ad but if you see the Sprint ad with ben Stiller in a locker room talking about how his phone has Crime Deterrent, watch it and laugh :)
And now back to our show.
A composed Martha walks with Logan to the podium where he begins to give his speech about the days events and Palmer's death.
But back at CTU, Chloe has set up a conference with the Attorney General much to the surprise of Karen Hayes and Buchanan. And as Logan gives his insipid speech, the AG and CTU agents listen in horror as Chloe replays the entire shouting match between Martha and Logan. And during the speech a federal marshall gets a phone call. He and several agents head up to the podium and gather around the President.
After he finishes speechifying, the agents inform him they are there to take him into custody (can they do that?) and also inform him of the accusations against him which he denies. The marshall calmly reaches into Logan's coat pocket and withdraws a pen with a mini recorder that Jack attached to it. Stunned he turns to Martha who gives him a fabulous smirk and looks down her nose at him. Novick behind her is also smirking. Ahhhhhhhh...
As they lead him away, in some kind of cruel justice, David Palmer is able to be present when the man who ordered his death is broght down. I thought that was pretty neat. The military give a 21 gun salute to a great man while the lesser man is led away in shame. Brilliant.
We come back to Jack who is sitting on a bumper dabbing at cut when Audrey pulls up. They have a reunion, there's a bit of snogging involved but they're interrupted as Jack is told Kim Bauer is on a landline in the building nearby. Surprised but smiling he leaves Audrey (with an "I love you") and goes to the phone. As he picks up the receiver he is ambushed by men in balaclavas and they subdue him with chloroform AND a knockout shot. Not before Jack takes one down with his feet though...
At CTU, Karen and Buchanan wrap things up, with Buchanan awkwardly asking karen to go for brekkie but she can't go. But she takes a raincheck in an "I like you too so ask me again soon" kind of way. I like thinking they'll hook up. They'd make a good couple. I'm pleased that Karen turned out to be so helpful. As Karen leaves, Buchanan goes to Chloe and congratulates her on the good work she's done. And then he gives her something he found in Edgar's possessions. She opens it up and it's a lovely photo of her and Edgar together. And a collective "Awwwwwwwwww" went up around the country. Chloe begins to cry a little and her ex is there to console. I thought that was nice.
And finally, Audrey goes to check on Jack and discovers he's missing. We then see a battered, bloody and bruised Jack being dragged into a large room and the thugs pull off their masks to reveal their Chinese faces. Oh dear.
They hold him on the ground as the Chinese investigator reminds Jack that China has a long memory. Jack says, "I know how this works." and asks for one phone call. Realizing that ain't gonna happen he mumbles, "Kill me... just kill me..." But the man tells Jack that he's far too valuable to kill. And as the scene pans out we discover that Jack's aboard a ship bound for Shanghei. *gulp*
What a cliffhanger! Forget the fact that he was beaten and transported onto a ship out to sea in minutes. I don't care that 24 acts in its own spacetime continuum. That was a great ending :)
SO yes, it's over. For another 8 months we'll have to live without Jack. We'll be speculating and guesstimating until FOX decides to tease us with a trailer here and there. And finally the DVDs will come out in December and will include some kind of transitory bonus scene and trailer to get us all hyped up again. I know the wait sucks but frankly, to me it's worth it to get a straight shot of the best show on TV every week for five months.
I'm going to take a minute to thank all of you who stopped by and read the rambling of some chick in Nebraska. The place got busier this season and I think it's because this season was so good and so many people got into it. I won't compare seasons because my opinion is subjective but I will say that I've had a fantastic time writing all of this this season and look forward to it again in 8 months.
I'll still be posting here too throughout the next 8 months so check back now and again :) Thanks again!

Good episode, nice recap. I have a feeling it will jump the shark next season, but we shall I find out.
~IceFox
do you guys delete comments or the comments got deleted from earlier this season entries? Because I was looking for my comment/speculation that said the Chinese will get Bauer and take him to China. (and all the speculation and hoping to follow Jack escape from China wile CTU is still functioning in the US and China's the enemy, and crap)
Anyhoo, It was an awesome end but torturous long months.
Those kidnappers were really fast to transport Jack to Port of Los Angeles and see the ship out at sea already.
I have enjoyed your posts a lot this season, Melia. It was a really good season finale. It's 1 am in Houston, Texas, and that's four hours since the season ended, and I don't know what is wrong with me. I'm really silent, and I always knew that the Chinese Jack somehow, but it's so hard to believe tht he's actually a POW or whatever you want to call it. I guess I'm still in schock. After Season One, there was always a a period of a year or years until the new day begins. So I think the real question everyone needs to ask is does the next season start where it left off, at 7 am? Or is there going to be another period of year or years until the new day begins? I think that's important to ask of right now because we NEED to know if he gets tortured or not. And he most likely will so the Chinese will get the information out of him. We all know Jack, and we all know that he has more lives than a cat, and he's a true patriot. I know it's just a show, but come on! Everyone breaks eventually, and I hate to say it, but even Jack can break and surrender. So what do we know about Jack Bauer? He LOVES his country and he would never betray the U.S. His work caused a lot of stress and heartbreak with is family. So in saying that, if Jack is being captured for over a year, then he will break and give the Chinese the information they seek. BUT here's the tricky thing. Jack would die before he betrays his country and give the Chinese that classified information. So if Jack is kept for a year and a half, he might just kill himself before he gives the Chinese the information. But that won't happen. So if it doesn't leave off where the season ended at 7 am, what happened? Well, in my opinon those are good question. Also, I think that when the series ends, it should end with Jack being killed. But not by terrorists, but like someone robbing him or Jack protecting someone he loves from a rapist or something and he gets killed in the process. Have the terrorist situation done and over with in the second to last episode of the series finale, and have the last episode having him try to make peace with his life and family. Just my thoughts. Valdimir Bierko was one cool bad guy. Sorry that this post was long. Byez.
You are awesome and even if I never left a comment before (at least I don't think I ever did), I go straight to your site after each episode... Thanks for all the BRILLIANT recaps... can't wait for Day 6!!! ;)
The Sprint ad is from the last Super Bowl...
Well the jig is up. My secret is out. I do not follow football :) Ah well. It's still a damn funny ad.
Eric - I don't go back and delete comments (unless they're trolls) but it could be possible Blogger automagically deletes them after a certain amount of time. I'm not sure.
Melia, you live in Nebraska? I guess I didn't know that. Never thought about it actually!
Anyway....let me start by saying that I loved the finale. There was enough drama, suspense and nail-biting in the first hour. And yes, it was un-Jack-like for him to kill Henderson, but he desrved it. But, it was very-Jack-like the way he offed Bierko! And I was especially happy that the writers didn't decide to kill of the young petty officer in the sub - that would've been unnecessary (like the bank manager that died - I wish they didn't do that). In the last hour, I loved how patriotic everything was. I loved how Martha did her duty, how Chloe came through (again), how they brought up Edgar again with a picture of him and Chloe, all of it. But, I'm really upset about the actual ending - I don't like the picture of Jack's bloody face being the last time we saw him. I knew the Chinese would be the next season. And I have to agree - I'm wondering where next season will pick up? How much time will have passed, which means how much torture has Jack endured? (My husband had to remind me that Jack Bauer is not a real person!) I'm also a little upset that Evelyn (Martha's assistant) and her daughter were never mentioned again after their apparent murders?? They should've at least made reference to it. And, if anyone can help me - where is Wayne? Did they disclose that and I missed it? I remember someone, Logan??, saying he was supposed to be there or something, but where is he? And what about Graham/Romano and his goons??? Do we just forget about them, or did I miss that too? I'm not comlaining, I loved the show, just trying to wrap up a few missing pieces for myself. So, if anyone has those answers, I'd appreciate it. Again, loved the show! And Melia, loved your blog. I'll be back next year. Can't wait! (I also laughed out loud at the Sprint commercial, although I did see it during the superbowl)! ;>)
>And, if anyone can help me - where is Wayne? Did they disclose that and I missed it? I remember someone, Logan??, saying he was supposed to be there or something, but where is he? And what about Graham/Romano and his goons??? Do we just forget about them, or did I miss that too?<
I think we could come up with at least 101 loose threads that were left hanging. Wayne's disappearance bugged me. If anything, he should have been at the airport with his brother's casket. It would have made a better dramatic moment if he were there to confront Logan.
Graham and his gang will have to be back in some capacity next season. They did not know Logan made arrangements with the Chinese to get Jack, so they are out of the loop on his kidnapping.
As far as next season, they either need to start immediately and have Jack escape the ship and swim back. His wounds would heal by the third hour. But more likely, they will pull a "Die Another Day" plotline with a year having passed. Heller will be in office, Audrey and Karen will be working for him. HE will broker an exchange deal to free Jack (for Audrey. But Jack will learn something (maybe a Chinese plot to topple the US), and rush to save the day again.
Anyway, I really enjoyed interacting with everyone on this blog. Seven more months!! mike13
One other thing...
I picked a week old copy of Entertainment Weekly. Thye had a couple paragraphs on the lady who is in charge of 24's script continuity. This means she has to go back behind the writers and make sure everything make sense and they don't skip over any details that were brought up on earlier episodes. They really need to look into replacing this lady. And not to be chauvanistic, a man (or woman) with a military background would be great. The whole deal with scrambling the jets from Pt. Mcgoo to the submarine was ridiculous. 25-30 minutes to be there??!! An F-18 can travel mach3. They could be anywhere in downtown LA in seconds!! On 9/11 jets were scrambled from the DC area and where over NYC in minutes.
There were just SO MANY things that we were left questioning after this season.
This has been such an awesome blog - there is a bunch of us that read and share the dialog and insight. It has enhanced the enjoyment of the show so much. Keeps an "after-glow" at least one more day!
If I run into anyone who shares my love of "24" - I take out my business card and on the back I write www.24addict.com -
Will be watching for any comments through-out the break...MLOGAL
Melia: There have been two constants for me over the past 5 months - 24 and your blog!! Well done and greatly appreciated in upstateNY.
A thought for next year - Romano and his crew get involved with some plot to do in China and jack and henderson save the day.
Should I be expecting season 6 to start with Jack being on the boat to China still.
They've never done a continuous thing like that before so it would be a first if they picked up next year with J still on the boat. But normally there is a time passage between seasons. Anywhere from 18 months to 3 years I think.
Thanks for all your kind words guys, they mean a lot to me :)
Since we're talking loose ends, here's my biggest one: Did Lynne Kresge live? Remember here from S2? SS agent pushed her over the stairs just when she found out about Novkick's duplicity? I've always wondered if she survived.
But yeah 24 is pretty good at letting threads go - though really that stuff happens IRL too. noth everything can be wrapped up in a big pretty bow :) When I didn't see Wayne anymore I think I just had a passing thought about why he wasn't at the airport with David's body but that that point, Logan was still in control (well as much control as he could be with Romano pulling strings) and he was probably still in danger.
Who knows.
Man I'm having a hell of a ttime typing today. Sorry for the plethora of typos. It's like my keyboard has shrunk and when I htink I'm hitting a certain key, I'm really hitting the one next to it.
Weird.
Apparently, the photo Bill have Clohe has a 'secret message' on it. Someone brought it up on IMDB, and someone posted this screencap, I dont know if its been altered though:

Hmmmm interesting. I'll have to reply it tonight and look at that. bet it's PS'd though. Ah well gives us something to speculate on for a while :)
Last night was pretty entertaining. Another long day ahead for Jack.
Someone just posted this on YouTube... pretty nice parody.
oops... sorry, here is the link:

Bravo! What a great, entertaining weekly recap of a great show!
Your posts were almost as fun to read weekly as tuning into the latest Jack-scedapes!
A few thoughts:
1. Not claiming to be clairvoyant, but I think we all KNEW the Chinese would rear their faces again near or at the very end of this season (what a way to kick off Day 6!!!!) I always had a weird feeling that the terrorist-complicit President plot this season was a bit of a non-sequitur. I mean, either Logan truly had the wily and sinister brain of a TRUE evil genius, to kick off an international conspiracy, using his own people as ginea pigs, organized and up-and-running in 18 months, since Jack was 'killed' ... or he always had it in him, and this was revealing during Day 5.
The first scenario has some logic to it, since Logan's the kind of spineless dude to want to cement a legacy of respect for himself at the cost of American citizens' welfare. But sheesh, conspiring AGAINST his ex-Cold-War nemesis, with yet another gas/WOMD deal, so soon after Marwan was brought down? AND killing Palmer, and offing prominent members of the nation's anti-terrorist org? (thankfully, us 24-philes gleefully suspend disbelief just to hear Jack yell "We're running out of time!" seemingly once a week :) )
Anyways, this season played out beautifully ... and not just because of the wildly entertaining evil President motif. I think, honestly, that sociologists and critics will point to the Logan/Bush allusions suggested.
I think that rooting against Logan as a weak-willed, simplistic, blood-thirsty and utterly unsympathetic wimp of a President is mirrored by Bush's actual lowest-of-all-time approval ratings and foreign policies. Art imitating life? Except for a real-life heroic, patriotic dude like Jack (unfortunately :) ), there seemed to just be so many places where the fictional White House drama echoed at least perceptions of the real-life Commander-in-chief.
2. '24' stepped up the emotional sub-texts great this season, too. In the past, the emotional/romantic sidebars on the show (except for Teri and Michelle/Tony) seemed almost tagged on. This season, we had great insight into Chloe and Edgar ('awwwwwwwwwwww' pt. II LOL -- plus, Chloe finally got some! You go, girl!), Michelle and Tony's tragedy was touching, and even Audrey and Jack was tastefully subdued, just enough to show the love they have without knocking you senseless with it.
3. On killing Henderson: this is one of the reasons why I love this show. No-one could go through such a string of soul-altering events as Jack has without becoming as much a product of his environment as he has. If he didn't, he'd hesitate even justifiably killing all the bad guys he does (Jack the philosopher? Moral questioner? Existentialist? With :19 seconds left on the ticker? He doesn't have time!)
Jack, for all of his humanity, still has a part of his soul ripped to shreds, and that's what makes him such a compelling character -- I mean, Henderson was part of the faction responsible for threatening thousands of innocent people (killing several), and have tried to take him out. But most interestingly, the death of his friends jabs Jack like a niggling thorn. It's a pickle -- we know Jack's a good guy, but the Henderson execution scene, along with a few others in the show's history, show how dark the recessed areas of Bauer are. Brilliant! (Q: what would you have done?)
4. OK, we've lost Tony Almeida, Michelle, Edgar, Lynn (yawn, but it was pretty touching too, to see him finally man up and do the right thing.) Who's left to croak -- and who would/wouldn't be a good idea to kill off?
* Buchanan: I like this dude. Has a quiet official sturdiness about him, but isn't so stubborn to make him bend a few protocols -- Jack's gonna need bucketloads of that holed up in China starting next January.
* Karen: don't think she'll play much of a role next season, but there's no real reason to kill her off ... I mean, if the writers invent something fantastic, fine. But I hope '24' finds more novel ways of building tension than simply building up new faces, to make 'em kick the bucket for no reason (Lynn made sense, tho.)
* Curtis: ahhhhhhh, my MAIN man Curt! Granted, he doesn't get any juicy sub-roles like Tony did with Michelle, but it's safe to say that Curtis is Jack's ace-in-the-hole in the field. He gets the job done, and even can take a bullet or two. I definitely do NOT want to see him get whacked, in fact, I wouldn't even mind if the writers bring on a new romantic lead on the show (c'mon -- Marcelle Beauvais, one of the chicks from Destiny's Child, a pesky recon expert who can sub-manage field ops with Curt, while supressing any overt sexual overtures, a la Mulder and Scully ... something like that. But I digress ... ;) Curt stays!
* Novick? The V-P? Martha? Pierce? This is tough ... with Logan (hopefully) gone, the V-P as acting President will have to act quickly for major damage control. I just don't see a lot of fireworks with V-P Guy and Novick. As for Martha (who was exceptional during the past two seasons), I'd like for her and Pierce to keep the professional, duty-bound thing going ... but the little back-and-forth between them looks like a promising sub-plot. Does Pierce kick the bucket? Certainly adds some more White House drama ...
5. And finally ...
How many people out there can stomach a season where some kind of major, somewhat serious physical calamity befalls Jack? No, not death ... but some kind of maiming ... serious enough to make an already tough situation tougher (and possibly potentially fatal), but not bad enough so that he couldn't have healed it in the length of time between this season's Day and next? I'm not sadistic, but as Keifer Sutherland rhetorically mused on the prospect of Jack finally gettin' deaded, 'how many bad days can one guy have' (without getting something a little more 'ouch!' than the odd beating, bloody nose, bruises, etc.)? That would be one of the bravest things the writers could try to tackle -- also one of the toughest. But, the show hasn't failed to shock and surprise us yet, soooo ...
That's it. Once again, love the blog!

Later!
what a show!!! It's just amazing how many emotional moments were there in the final 2 hours. yeah, this season had more "is it really possible?" questions but I do not care about that. It is the best show on Earth and it's just beautiful. That last image of Jack being taken by the chinese...wow! and when you think back about jack capturing logan. he wasn't fighting with his brain to prevent himself from killing the president of the USA, he was fighting NOT to pull the trigger!
Melia thanks a lot for a great blog! it was so much fun reading it after every episode.
Jack will find a way to survive, I'm sure of that. I on the other hand will explode from waiting for the next season :)
bye
Season 5 was truly a great season but they have all been great as I am certain that season 6 will be as well.
Maybe it is too early but I just love to look ahead. I don't see next season picking up inside China simply for the fact that of the limiting time and geography factors. Possible players for next year would include the German dude that Jack hosed with the exploding wet list. A return of Chase to rescue Jack(?) - Chase is about the only qualified person that plays outside the box remaining. Heller should definitely be President for next season. I could see the Chinese realizing that they can not break Jack but utilizing him to do something on their behalf in exchange for his freedom and leaving his daughter alone. They clearly have something in particular in mind for Jack.
One last thought - I am hoping (although realizing it is not likely) that Tony somehow survived. Here is to hoping that he is in a coma and the drug wears off.
I'd like to see Day 6 take place two or three days after Day 5. Long enough for everyone to figure out where Jack must have been taken, soon enough for the government to still be reeling from Logan's "resignation," for the hunt for his co-conspirators to still be on, and for people other than Audrey and her father to be looking for Jack. I very much want to know who Graham represents.
I'd also love it if the next season doesn't concern itself with anything bigger than finding Graham and getting Jack out of China alive. 24's been one-upping itself with absurd terrorist plots for too long. It needs to get personal again, where "personal" means something other than "long-running characters cameo so they can die senselessly."
David - I absolutely agree with everything you just posted! That would be a perfect scenario for S6.
I just wanted to add my thanks to everyone else's comments here, it's been great to read the fantastic episode summaries, comments and discussions, and I will miss it too for another 8 months (do we really have to wait that long?!)
I was hoping that maybe the producers would commission other 24-style series (they mentioned the idea of a New York cop), so they can run 3 series per year, then we can have 3 heroes and no waiting!
Two things I don't think ever got wrapped up... From season 4, Sarah Gavin (the CTU girl who was tortured by Driscoll even though she was innocent), when she walked out she said "I'm gonna make you regret this!" (or something similar) but was never heard from again.
Then this season, the German agent, who just seems to have disappeared without trace from the plot. Do you guys think that they would be brought back next season, a la Mandy, or just dropped altogether? Sarah was very cute, it would be a shame to waste the opportunity of getting her back again!!
i want to thank everyone especially melia for always posting n recapping the show show well. i would always look forward to reading it. :)
i loved martha's smile at logan being taken away. it was perfect! what ever happened to graham n his buddies? i thought that the picture of edgar and chloe was soo adorable and its sad to see him go. that epi was very good though i would rather jack spend at least one day resting and with Audrey before he got captured.
ben and pierre: I am still not convinced that henderson is dead. The shooting scene could have been done for the benefit of the navy guy as some sort of proof that he was dead and jack was honoring his agreement with chris to let him escape. True, how does henderson get away now, but that is left for spec.
Let's just keep going with this until the new season starts.
- the whole Wayne "in hiding" thing just doesn't work for me, but I'll get over it and move on...
- Does anyone think we'll see Kim again? I don't.
- Tony is dead. So is Martha's asst and child (I would've shot Henderson just for that act). They're not coming back.
- Chloe was not a bad guy. Damn!! But Morris was an interesting character. Of course, he'll be back next year. Someone has to replace Edgar, right?
- My first thought (after Jimmy Buffet singing "on a slow boat to China...." was the Manchurain Candidate. Jack is "too valuable" to be killed. What better way to get revenge on him than reprogramming him to come back and kill a target of their choosing?
Then next season would go like this -
Jack reappears a year later. His memory is in shreds. Bill, head of CTU, takes him in and suspects he may have been brain washed. Audrey does not want to believe this and she and Jack fight Bill on his decision to keep Jack confined. There are agents (bad guys) monitoring Jack's every move. He escapes and the hunt is on! Buchanon gets information about what Jack's target may be, in a stunning plot twist, from Graham (who, afterall, thinks he is a patriot). Curtis is sent out to the field to set up numerous perimeters and they hope to find Jack and take him alive. Maybe Jack's target is Heller, and the Secret Service, led again by Aaron (who is "taking care of the former First Lady after Logan's incarceration), has to protect Heller and kill Jack. The German agent learns there is a price on Jack's head and sees a way to gain revenge by getting him, also. Jack manages to elude everyone, but has numerous scrapes and kills many people to stay alive. Maybe he even visits Kim to hide out for an episode. At first he refuses to believe he has been brainwashed, but slowly realizes there is a part of his mind he does not control and it drives him into revenge mode for what the Chinese have done to him. Jack will have the climatic confrontation with his target (Heller?) with about 8 episodes to go. He will refuse to shoot him, and is spared by Aaron and rescued by Audrey. For the rest of the show he will be himself and after the people who set him up. His first visit will be to Graham, since Graham knew about his target.
What do you think? mike13
Henderson was shot at around 5:21AM, and there was a camera shot at him being dead at around 5:53AM, so I conclude he's dead, unless the writers of the show are willing to do something highly illogical as they did with Heller -- speaking of which, I mean, highly illogical, there was a song by Leonard Nemoy by that name -- see http://www.digitaldreamdoor.com/pages/lyrics2/nov_highillog.html. Anyway, the only reason that I can think of as to why anyone would want Henderson alive would be that he seems to the only only person who knew of the relationship between Logan and Graham. But to me, that's like whatever. Graham was introduced simply because Logan couldn't have been the only mastermind behind all this fiendishly complex plan to a) sign the treaty with the Russian government, b) form a connection with Russian terrosts who wouldn't like that treaty, c) invite the terrorists to the US soil promising to them that they could bring the US military grade chemical weapon all he way back to Russia, d) betray the terrorists during that process to kill them all, e) reveal the thwarted terrorist plot to the worald, and f) justifies the treaty becaue of that all the more and therefore further involvement by the US in the middle east oil interest. That's such an absurdly long sequence of events to count on. Anyway, I can't care less ablut those guys like Graham and his drinking buddies and Miles the weasel, etc. and I hope they won't be part of the show next season. Well, other than that, I just can't wait until the next season. By the way, I just love this board, Melia, and all the folks who post here.
I like the idea of Jack being brainwashed by the Chinese and ordered to kill some high-value US target as the main S6 arc.
However, I wouldn't be surprised if they solved this situation in a transitionary episode on the S5 DVD where CTU mounts a rescue mission, saving Jack from being transported to China.
BTW, the best line of the season:"Is there anything else, Charles?" Aaron will testify this during the trial. Good luck, Charles.
OH, DON'T FORGET ABOUT THOSE WRITERS OF THEIRS. THEY NEVER LEAVE OUT THE CHARACTERS THAT DID NOT DIE, ETC. I THINK SOMETHING WILL HAPPEN THAT DAVID PALMER'S BOOK COMES OUT AND HE TAKES THE BLAME FOR THE CHINESE INCIDENT, WHICH MAKES HIM LOOK GOOD (CAUSE HE IS) AND MAKES THE CHINESE GUYS LOOK BAD (WELL, AT LEAST THEY SHOOT BAD). GEEZ, JUST WHEN U THINK HE WOULD BE HAPPY FOR AT LEAST 1 MINUTE OUT OF 24 HOURS, FORGETABOUT IT.... LIKE DREAM ON.... MUST GET COMBAT PAY FOR THAT. HOPE TO SEE SECRETARY HELLER COME BACK, AND REFRESH MY MEMORY HERE..... DID SOMEONE KILL MILES? I FORGET.... BECAUSE IF THEY DIDN'T, THEY BETTER AND DO IT SOON CAUSE US FANS DON'T LIKE ROTTON SNAKE RAT IDIOTS LIKE HIM. DON'T FORGET ABOUT THE GERMAN SPY WHO APPEARED A COUPLE OF SEASONS, HE IS KIND OF PISSED. HOPE THE WRITERS TAKE A LITTLE CHANGE OF ROAD, SO TO SAY HERE, FANS KNOW TOO MUCH ABOUT NERVE GAS, CENTOX GAS, MISSLES WITH NUKES, ETC. THERE ARE TOO MANY OTHER KOOL STUFF IN REAL LIFE THE BAD GUYS DO TO. MARTHA, GOTTA HAND IT TO YOU, HURRAY. WHEN I FIRST SAW CHARLES INTRO'D IN THE EPISODE, I SAID TO MY FRIEND, HE EITHER LOOKS DUMB OR IS REALLY SMART. I WAS RIGHT. OH, WHAT IS GOING TO HAPPEN TO THE ER DR. ROMANO, WHO THE HELL KNOWS WHAT THEY ARE PEOPLE? MAY THE WRITERS WATCH THE DIVINCHI CODE AND PUT A FEW CLUE IN HERE, WHAT A BANG, UNTIL LATER THIS YEAR, RERUNS IT IS. OH, WHERE IS DAVID PALMER? DO YOU THINK WALT CUMMINGS IS REALLY DEAD AFTER ALL OF THAT? HMMMM......... DO YOU THINK JACK SHOT CHRISTOPHER HENDERSON FOR REAL, OR JUST HONORED HIS WORD TO "LEAVE HIM DEAD" SO HE COULD DISAPPEAR STUFF? interesting.
