You little ass-kisser
So Bill Buchanan had the best line of the night. It's like the writers are reading my mind this season! When Buchanan called Whiny Miles an ass-kisser I thought I was going to keel over. So cool.
And I am happy to annouce that I have joined the rest of the civilized world and installed a DVR today. I enojyed rewinding the ass-kisser remark over and over. There was much giggling.
Tonight's show was fraught with tension. My jaws are sore from clenching my teeth. Will Martha lose it and blab the President's treachery? Will Jack lose consciousness in the luggage compartment? Who the F are the guys pulling Logan's strings? It's driving me nuts.
We began with Karen Hayes speaking to Buchanan covertly to tell him to get Chloe out of his house before the tact team arrives to arrest her. Then the Ass-Kisser walks in and she pretends to direct the team to bring Buchanan into CTU for interrogation which AK thinks is weird. Meanwhile, Chloe got out through the back door and made her way to a hotel a few blocks away from Bill's house. She sets up shop in a darkened corner of the hotel bar. She's now tucked away and working with Karen Hayes' resources and she gets Jack the passenger manifest he needs to narrow down the person on board who's got the recording.
Unfortunately for Chloe, this bar comes with an obligatory drunken, misogynist businessman looking to score. There's one in every bar isn't there?
Chloe locates the Air Marshall on board and Jack pops up from the floor (which struck me funny for some reason) and nonchalantly makes his way to the Marshall's row. Feigning exhaustion, grabs a pillow, chucks his Elbow of Doom into the Marshall's head knocking him out then gently places the pillow under his head so it looks like he's sleeping. Very slick.
Chloe is cross-checking the manifest looking for anyone with connections to Henderson and his company, Omicron. She finds a hit, calls Jack and sends him off to get the guy. Jack, having stolen the Marshall's ID, convinces the man to step into the galley where Jack knocks him out. I think I'd like to learn how to render someone unconscious with one quick jab with my fist. I think it could come in handy :) Anyway, Jack drops the unconscious man down the hatch he popped up in and they disappear into the baggage hold just as an air steward steps into the galley. Phew!
Back at the retreat we get to see more of Mad Martha. I missed the First Lady of Crazy (TM TWoP). Jean Smart is a wonderful actress but I like Martha better when she's got the crazies on instead of simpering with her husband. Of course, we know why she's slipping off the deep end but still, it's interesting to watch. For me anyway, dunno about the rest of you. Currently, she's being "held" in her room and she's getting her drink on and beginning to wig out because her meds are gone. She calls Novick and tries to ask him to get her meds for her but in the process she slips a little and gives Mike cause to be suspicious. She tries to pretend that her behaviour is just nerves but Novick's pretty sharp and he can read between the lines. Martha doesn't break completely and tell Novick about Logan's duplicity but he's got an inkling now.
Romano (and for the person who asked why I call the creepy cell phone guy 'Romano' it's because he played the asshole doctor Romano on ER for a long time and was one of my faves on that show) calls Logan for an update on Bauer but Logan's got nuttin'. Novick interrupts him though and voices his concerns/suspicions about Martha. He tries to get Logan to fess up (because he just knows something isn't right) but Logan plays it off and chalks up her behaviour to marital woes.
Novick isn't buying it though. He goes back to Mad Martha and gives her a couple of days worth of pills which she wolfs down in short order. And then Novick moves in for the kill. He begins to grill Martha. He tells her he thinks they're both covering something up. For a split second, I believe he'll convince her but I guess Martha's integrity is pretty strong and she doesn't tell him. Dissatisfied, Mike leaves.
Up on the plane, Jack begins grilling the guy he snuck into the baggage compartment but is getting nowhere. Chloe, after aptly deflecting drunk businessman, contacts airport customs as she continues to cross-check the manifest. Good girl actually. I didn't think she'd just stop doing that because she thinks Jack has the right guy. Always good to be thorough. The plane begins to experience turbulence and they discover that the Air Marshall has been knocked out and a passenger is missing. Ruh-roh.
Chloe reports to Jack and tells him she thinks he has the wrong guy. "Fucking great" is what I'm betting Jack is thinking. The Marshall on board tells the pilot he needs to seal the baggage area and begin de-pressurizing it. This will cause Jack and his hostage to lose consciousness and make them easy prey. Of course, Jack is one step ahead and knows what they're up to. He gets Chloe to connect him to the pilot who isn't believing a word Jack says despite the fact that Jack could not have gotten through to the pilot without CTU assistance (provided by Hayes back at CTU.)
How the hell is Jack going to talk his way out of this one??
I mean, in the back of my mind, I know he will of course get out of the situation. He's Jack. But I can't fathom how he'll do it. He's locked in the baggage area. He knows the Marshall will sacrifice the hostage to subdue/kill Jack so he's got no leverage. The pilot refuses to let him up despite Jack's please (his powers of persuasion must require eye contact :) )
So what does Jack do? With a throaty, "Son of a bitch" my boy slices through the ceiling with his handy knife (pulled from the JackSack (TM Dave Barry's blog) and with a belt wrapped around some wires in a conduit he mucks with the plane's rudders or something. (Ok, my sister thinks this little manuever was OTT and maybe it was but you guys know me. I don't care :) I'm happy to suspend belief in any way in order to enjoy the show. So unless Jack crawls out on a wing and starts yanking wires out of it, I'll carry on believing he can make the plane go wonky with nothing but a belt and a knife :) ) The pilot, realizing Jack means business, agrees to let him up. And I love the way Jack popped up from the hatch with his gun first. Puts a new spin on Jack-in-the-boxes.
Keeping his gun trained on the passengers and with the Air Marshall now locked in the baggage compartment, Jack tells the pilot he needs to keep the plane in a holding pattern while he searches the passengers. The pilot refuses because regulations stipulate that he must land the plane in the event of a hijacking. So Jack does not have much time to conduct his search.
Now I'm going back a bit because I skipped one of the highlights of the episode (at least for me.) In the hotel bar, drunken businessman approaches Chloe for the second time with some shmaltzy line about VOIP because he's seen her put an earpiece on. Rather than shoo him away with her usual abruptness, Chloe smiles and asks him to sit down. As he begins muttering some line about her laptop, she deftly reaches into her bag and zaps his ass with a taser. God I love Chloe. If I was a lesbian, I would so do her.
Buchanan is now back at CTU under the pretense of being under arrest. Karen wishes to deal with him herself which doesn't sit well with the ass-kisser. So he pesters Novick to whinge about Karen's methods. It doesn't take long for Novkic to become irritated and he gets off the call. In holding, Karen makes it clear to Bill that she's helping reluctantly and she needs to hear the recording herself. The President and Novick interrupt her and Logan makes it clear to Karen that CTU is to get the plane down and let the president's secret service agents arrest Bauer. Given what karen knows, this newest order seems to reassure her that Logan is dirty.
Novick is beginning to put two and two together himself after witnessing Logan's posturing during the call with Karen.
Meanwhile, drunken businessman comes to, a little groggy, soe she tasers him again and I swear she had a bit of a smirk on her face as she continued to work :) As she types away she speaks with customs again and discovers that the co-pilot on board was a last minute switch. Bingo! The new co-pilot has ties to Omicron and Henderson. Jack contacts the pilot ona private channel and fills him in.
A scuffle ensues and the co-pilot, knowing the jig is up, kills the pilot but not before he got the cabin unlocked, letting Jack in. Muahahaha. Jack clocks him a couple of times and menaces him into handing over the recording. And in another comment from the peanut gallery, my sister would like it known that she thought the music that played when the co-pilot handed over the recording to Jack was "cheesy." I disagree but she and I do that a lot :)
After Jack gets the recording he puts the gun to the co-pilot's head and orders him to land the plane.
Cutting back to Martha we find her sitting on the floor, well out of her head, and she calls Logan. She rambles on about how she wants to try to understand why Logan is doing this and how she wishes he would have come to her in the beginning. Logan loses it though and snaps at her, mentioning that she's been "one step away from a nervous breakdown" during his entire presidency. His cell rings and it's Romano again so he cuts Martha off which sends her into hysterics.
And now I have to end this because my brand new DVR crapped out on me and in the ensuing hassle of dealing with my cable company (who hung up on me in the middle of the call forcing me to call back and get my own little bit of crazy on) I've forgotten how the show ended. If someone would like to enlighten me in the comments I'd appreciate it. I'm pissed off and tired so I'm going to bed.
Great show tonight though.

I almost died laughing when Chloe used the taser to that guy at the bar.
Me too and she did it twice! I don't know how to explain why it was so funny...it just seemed like she tazed him real quick and went back to work like nothing happened. (like a chore she had to do real quick)
Also are you sure the pilot is dead? Anyways another great episode, but the suspense is going to kill me this week. :p
I think that your initial thought that Romano was a guest actor is right, simply because he appeared without any explanation whatsoever and not only that it wasn't shocking at all. On the other hand, how many layers of these evil masterminds does the show afford to have? Anyway, I trust the writers of the show will come up with a convincing conclusion, and I'm willing to believe it whatever it will be, as the show has been such incredible fun as always.
I think I need to go back and watch part of the show again on my DVR! I don't remember actually seeing the pilot killed - but I was very confused about what happened during that scene and where the pilot went! So mabye I'll try and watch it again.
And my girl, Chloe - again, she stole the show, this week with the taser. And not once, but twice! Charlie Page - I agree with you why it was so funny - like she just took care of business and went back to work. Hilarious.
And I must admit that I think some of the "antics" on the show are a little over-the-top, but I'm like the rest of you addicts. I overlook it because it's 24!
Melia, I love reading your blog - just started a couple weeks ago and I really enjoy it. Loved your Jack-in-the-Box comment. Made me laugh! Thanks!
Here's my impressions of last night's show.
- It seemed less happened than during any other hour this season. It was all Jack on the plane and Chloe tazering the drunk guy. And of course Martha got all drugged up, and Buchanon and Karen solidified their clandestine working relationship. It just all seemed like build up for next week.
- I called the copilot! I like the way the captain acted. Totally realistic. His primary job is to get the plane on the ground safely. Period. And no, I don't think he died. Didn't the copilot just knock him out with the flashlight? Judging by next week's episode, when the F-16 is about to shoot down the plane and the copilot can't/won't hold the plane, that would be a great time to wake up. Just in time for the plane to crash land in the middle of nowhere and everyone race to find Jack, who barely suvives, and loses the tape again, only to track it down - AGAIN. We'll see.
- What are they doing to Martha?! She's totally given up - on Aaron, and getting the truth out. She's almost become complicent in Logan's betrayal by not saying anything. It's too easy to picture her all drugged up walking in to Logan's office with a gun and shooting him. At least shoot that prick Justin!
- And what the hell, it's 3am. Logan, the President's been up for close to 24 hours already and he's got a big day tommorrow with Palmer's funeral. I know, I know, it's 24, he has to stay up. But Mike's right - the danger's over, what the hell is he still worried about?
- AND WHAT HAPPENED TO WAYNE??!! Kudos to the blogger last week who pointed this out. I thought for sure he was still crashing at Bill's place. I was waiting for him to come out of bedroom and confront the CTU guys, but no, he was gone. Where is he?

Jack needs to call someone and let them record that damn recording so that they don't have to keep finding it. But then what would the show be about?
Um, yet another episode with some action and no real development. I wonder how many times Chloe knocked out the charming guy during the commercials.
@Ben: The thing on the ground was the grip of the port after Jack had closed it. At a first glance it really looked like something important.
It seems there is no significance in the diplomatic flight besides the co-pilot (anyway, we now know it was heading for Frankfurt, Germany, not Russia or anywhere else). No mediation, no conspiration, no war. There is not much time left for a new twist. Was this all?
michael
Another thought I forgot to write about. I guess the reason I feel little happened in this episode was that I was expecting Curtis, Audrey, and Henderson to arrive at CTU and for there to be revelations from Henderson and Bierko. I guess I've gotten used to following 5-6 different storylines and they cut it down to 4. I mean on any other episode, Curtis' helicopter would have been back at CTU with everyone in the first 15 minutes. I didn't see anything in next week's previews that showed any of them, either. They need to appear next week or else wondering where they are will start distracting me.
As Jack was threatening to crash the plane last night, I kept thinking that the first thing Henderson would want to do is spill the beans to protect himself. Any testimony from him would do almost the same damage as the tape, right? Therefor Logan or Romano has to eliminate him.
As far as an interrogation technique that will get results, how about sending in Chloe with the tazer?

"Also, something dropped on the floor on the plane that looked like a recording as well.(camera was showing it for clear 2, 3 seconds..) It came from the first guy who jack took down to the luggages.
Anybody catch that & know what it was?"
I think it was just the hatch to the baggage hold.
Great build-up episode.

Well to the administration people that dont know what is really going on it's odd, but of course he is still up to keep track of where the recording is at and where Jack is.
I can't wait for next week. :D
Some of these lines from Dave Barry's 24 blog just busted my gut.
UPDATE: I think Jack should just knock out everybody in the plane, and then.... I dunno, maybe get some sleep.
UPDATE: The First Lady neeeeeeeeeeds her medication.
UPDATE: I think Mike should offer the First Lady some reefer.
UPDATE: Mike needs to read the script. He is WAY behind
**
UPDATE: Ha ha! They think they can kill Jack by depriving him of oxygen! JACK BAUER DOES NOT NEED YOUR PATHETIC OXYGEN!!!
UPDATE: Chloe! Taser!
UPDATE: "I'm the man in your cargo hold." I bet you don't often hear that, as a pilot.

That's link above.
Yeah - that was funny how chloe was tasering that guy...poor drunk. I thought it was a good episode - as it has been all year. Interesting though how they are using quite a lot of "Robocop" actors in this season....the Romano character, the vice-president, and Christopher Henderson. Now, they just need to add Nancy Allen, "Red" from That 70's show, and a few others and we'll have the entire cast from "Robocop". can't wait to see what happens over the last 4 shows!!!
How is president logan getting all of this information. how did he find out that jack has the recording. there is another mole at CTU. for some reason i dont think that it is ass kisser. PLEASE HELP
It's Romano who informed Logan of Jack's possession of the recording. Then how did Romano did know? He mentioned the phone conversation between Chloe and Karen about it. Then how could he (or "they"?) eavesdrop the conversation? That I don't know. Another mole? Maybe. According to Dave Barry half of the CTU members are dead and the other half are moles.
chloe tasering that drunk guy twice was soooo awesome! i laughed out loud both times! i'm worrying though about martha getting all drugged up ...why did novick give her the meds? i hope novick figures out Logan asap ...wasn't chloe using a dry cell? doesn't that enable the calls not to be picked up? im worried though about next wk...what was is there out of bombing the plane w. the fighter jets right there :(
Haha that would be great having Red from that 70's show (his name is Nancy?), maybe a secret service agent that's a mole? :p
It's kinda too late to mention this, but big part of this season's plot was about those Russian terrorists, whose whole purpose was to conduct major terrorism inside Russia, not in the US. To do that, those Russian terrorists had to count on some US help to bring those canisters to Russia. As it turned out, those US cooperators had a different agenda, and the Russian terrorists realized they were betrayed. Then they had to retaliate by releasing the canisters in the US soil. One probelm about this plot is that the Russian terrorits wanted to bring the canisters from the US all the way back to Russia, in which process so many things could go wrong. Did they really count on it? Another point is that because the Russian terrorists' whole purpose was to conduct terrorism inside Russia, they were not really planing on major attack in the US. So after those canisters were destroyed, there's simply no next plan by the Russian terrotists. In the previous seasons, those terrorits had multiple attack plans, but that seems impossible in this season for this reason. Then what's left for this season? The answer seems like the plot twist about Logan, which feels weak, as Logan's regarded as such an idiot. Then there's this Romano figure who's supposed to be yet anothet puppetmaster yet whose whole purpose seems like just a guest appearrance on the show. And we have only four episodes left, and Logan has not been even brought down yet. But I still hope the writers of 24 will pull off a big time shocker somehow.
It looks like they are stretching these last few episodes out through this extended airplane scene. Looks like next weeksepisode will be taken up by it, also. Then there will be three episodes left. I suspect in the third to last episode Curtis, Audrey, Henderson, ect, will all come together at CTU and between their confessions and Jack's tape, the truth will come out at the end of third to last episode. That will leave 2nd to last episode for them to approach Mike and let him in on what they know. I'm not sure how he will react. In the first season he was all for doing the cover up when Palmer had problems - wasn't he kind of a bad guy then?! Realistically, he would would want to cover it up, which will probably push Marth over the edge and she's kill them both - but not until the end of the last episode. We'll probably spend a good part of 2nd to last and last episode with Jack running for his life until Karen, or whoever is left in charge, tells him Logan is dead and everyone has been called off. Of course, somewhere in there, Romano, or whatever the hell his name is, will have to be dealt with and Heller will have to return from the dead, Wayne and Aaron have to reappear, and someone else major will die.
Now here's what I'd like to know, but I don't think we'll ever get answers for -
- Who knew Jack was alive?
- Above blogger is right, how did Bierko have such a cooridinated plan to attack LA if his main plan was to ship out the canisters on the cargo ship?
- Why the whole airport hostage thing just to get to the canisters? Seems it would have been a whole lot easier to drive in and get them without all the police there.
- C. Thomas Howell and Jack's daughter - what's up with them?
- Will Bill Buchanon ever run CTU again?
- Will the entire cast of Robocop be killed off? They should.
mike13
Why isn't EVERYONE questioning how Romano tapped into the phone call between Chloe and Karen? Before now he has relied on Logan to tell him what was happening.
He's the Puppetmaster. He knows all. Seriously, though, I don't even want to begin to figure that out. It could be Mike, the pycho sexual harrassee at CTU, Miles, OR maybe CHLOE. Wow, just thought of that. C'mon, now, she's the only one who knew Jack was alive and she made the call. Anyone else would be illogical or "God's in the machine" syndrome (illogical plot twist created solely to explain an illogical situation or rescue a character at the last minute in an illogical way, is always something that has never been introduced to the story prior to its appearance). And the writers never throw anything like that out do they? mike13
i dont think its chloe b.c i heard she signed on for next season as well so if she worked w. terrorists she would probably dead or under arrest by the end of the season
Ok Let's clear this up for now.
First off, Miles is not a mole. He is a tool! A power tool for that matter, meaning he is not even useful without electricity and a person using him. He seems to be suspicious of Karen, but his call to Mike means he is not clued into Romano or Logan. However, he does know that something is up with Logan and with Jack. He is a stickler for the rules and a total tightasskisser. I would like to see Jack return to CTU in 2nd to last episode and choke the sniveling wiener into submission. Perhaps a drop of sweat from Jack's nose with stain Miles' shirt.
Secondly, enough with Chloe being a double crosser. First remember her apartment in episode I, not a bad spread, she needs for nothing except to get Jack in her bed! WhooHoo!!
WHERE THE F is Wayne Palmer. He is the mole!! He is the Mole!! He slipped out the back of Billy Buch's house and is now on the run. He was only in the plot to avenge his brother's death. He wants the recording to broadcast on Yo MTV Raps!
How did Romano know about the call between Karen and Chloe? Stop looking at Chloe's dry cell, start looking at CTU's switchboard. There is a bug at CTU on the director's office. Remember how Karen was using her cell phone to call and get calls from Chloe, then when Jack was on the plane she used her desk phone to call the FAA and get through to the pilot? Remember that slick little move. BOOM! Now they know about Jack being on the plane and getting the recording from the co-pilot which Romero knew had the recording. ANALYSIS DONE! THANKS!BYE!
Lastly, How will it end? Oh I dont really know, but here goes.
Curtis is actually sidetracked from returning to CTU by searching the crash site for Heller's body. He finds Heller alive. Audrey and Dad have a nice hug and redouble their efforts to sink Logan. Wayne Palmer is actually going to show up at the hotel bar to have a shot with Chloe. They will eventually be instrumental in something. Jack is now in the cockpit with the courier and the Air Force is going to try and shoot the plane down. Of course, the pilot will have September 11th syndrome (no offense) and fail to launch against a commercial jet. However, some evasive manuevers by the co-pilot, ordered by Jack, will force the plane into an unrecoverable dive. The plane will not crash and burn though as Jack reaches into his Jackpack and pulls out a {something} to save the day.
So Curtis, with Heller rescued, will fly to the crash site and scoop up Jack before the Secret Service (the mean and nasty SS now) reaches the crash site to waste Jack themselves. That CTU chopper with fly to Logan's retreat (heavy wooden paneled retreat mind you) and attempt to confront the president. Just as Martha, who is nearly comatose is confronting Logan about his transgressions and Mike walks in when the shouting starts and hears the whole confession. Logan has his brutes storm the room just as Heller, dripping wet, enters with Jack and Curtis. The whole thing goes down right there. Aaron comes in at the last minute to take command of the misguided Secret Service and Logan is taken into custody. However....Logan is going to denuemont about Romano's group and give them up.
Back at CTU, Bierko and Henderson try to bargain with what they know, but they will merely fill in some blanks. Jack must have a climax with Henderson, so he will leave Logan behind for Heller and VP to chew up, and head to CTU with Curtis. On the way, the chinese assassin who has been looking for Jack since he made his name known to the German agent at 11pm will do something. Jack survives.
At CTU Jack beats the living crap out of Miles, then meets Henderson in the interrogation chamber and performs some sick moves on his robocop ass.
End of story.
The idea of Wayne being a mole is interesting (I never liked him). But you did not explain why Henderson wanted to have Wayne dead. He could have had Wayne assassinated together with David Palmer but he did not. At which point (and why) did Henderson decide that Wayne had to die? As far as I know Buchanan were to take Wayne to a safe place (which is probably not his own apartment).
BTW: What does Jack want to do with the recording: As far as I remember he wanted to: 1. tell the attorney general, 2. use Heller´s power, 3. go public with Wayne Palmer. This is not clear.

But where's the cougar? Don't you think they'll have a cougar try to eat somebody? I bet it's still hungry and pissed from missing out on eating Kim.
The only reason I'm toying with the idea of Chloe being involved is that she is the one person no one would suspect. I like her as character, too, and she will be back next year, but in the same interview she said there would be a big revelation about her. If she is involved, hopefully it will be in an innocent way, like the guy she slept with that thought he was helping the White House (Cummings).
Maybe Miles or Romano (isn't it sad that we are referring to him by his name from another show?) will get stranded out in the woods and eaten.
It's not only us who refer to the bald puppetmaster as Romano. Even USA today dos that. See ..

I'll readily admit I am not good with names. I assumed he was called Dr. Romano on ER. I have also heard people refer to him as Graham, which according to the official 24 website IS his name on the show. This is from the official website. IT kind of sounds funny to me when you read it the way they've written it.
Chloe calls Jack with the latest discovery. She patches him into the pilot and Jack explains that Evans is connected to a known terrorist. Cotter is shocked, but doesn’t say anything out loud. He feigns a cramp in his leg and gets up from the seat. When Cotter makes a move to open the cockpit door, Evans knocks him out with a flashlight. **ok, he's not dead**
2:57 A.M.
Jack breaks into the cockpit and slugs Evans. He trains his gun on him and demands the recording. Evans hands it over. Jack makes him get back in the driver’s seat **driver's seat? DRIVER'S SEAT?* to land the plane. He calls Chloe and warns her that he will soon be on the ground.
2:58 A.M.
A drugged-up Martha calls Logan from her bedroom. She knows he’s a good man, but doesn’t understand why he didn’t come to her for advice. Logan counters that she has been close to a nervous breakdown for the last three years. He hangs up on her to take another call. **that last line just makes me chuckle**
2:59 A.M.
Graham knows that Jack has the recording and is controlling the plane. He picked up a call **just picked up a call, huh?** from Chloe to Karen. Graham orders the President to shoot down the plane. The only other option is for Logan to go to prison for treason and murder. **So this guy just orders the President to shoot down a plane, and there are no other options for him? If I didn't watch this show every week and know that it really didn't happen QUITE like they make it sound, I would really qestion the sanity of all those millions who live and die by it.
you know, i have a few issues here.
1. What would shooting that plane down do for Logan's legal status other than raise more red flags? I am not sure it could be explained away with a 9/11 horror story. I think it would only serve to further incriminate Logan. But it would shift focus away from Graham, wouldn't it?
2. Is there going to be enough time to resolve all the loose threads? I mean between Heller being dead or alive, Chloe's major revelation (I have a feeling she is about to turn into another Nina Meyers. Only less brutal.), the interrogations of Henderson and Bierko (Anybody seeing a repeat of the Reza/Bob warner interrogation coming? Play them off each other, right?), Charles Logans day of reckoning, the funeral of David Palmer, and of course, where the heck are Curtis, Audrey, and the rest of the gang?
3. I really think the season will end this way.
hour 21- the plane will land and the evidence will be secured and Logan will be in a bind. Then, the house of cards will fall. Bierko and Hendu spill their guts to save their asses because they know the jig is up. One of them will make the revelation about CHloe. Curtis will phone in that Heller is alive.
Hour 22- The burden of proof will be presented to the attorney general. Logan will be indicted, causing him to spill the beans on Graham and his group. They, in turn, are taken in. Assassins will come for Jack from the German and Chinese governments.
Hour 23- Martha kills Logan and herself. Jack defeats the assassins, but learns of a final and much more shocking threat. Barry Landis is not who he thinks he is. Jack races to save Kim.
Hour 24- All loose ends regarding the days events and why all this had to happen will be wrapped up 0619. From that point on until 0700, The hunt for Kim is on. But when he arrives at her location, he arrives in time to see her executed. Devastated, Jack kills Barry, then turns the gun on himself. But before he can do the deed, a shadowy figure takes him prisoner. Who it is will remain a mystery until next year. (0658)
fLASH TO OUR final multi-angle of the season and insert a random shocking sound bite to cap off a great season. Something like Gardner promising the immediate extradition of Jack Bauer to China or Germany. Any ideas?
You know, a crossover episode with the shield would be a great thing wouldn't it? Or a simpsons mock-up of 24? Or an obscure reference/guestspot for Kiefer on family guy? Alls I'm saying is 24 can be marketed more aggressively right? And can we get some of Jacks exes into the mix? Please? Kate Warner, where ya at?
I don't know how the season will end, but I guess it's a safe bet to think that the writers of the show wouldn't go for a deus ex machina solution in the final hour nor a cliff hanger that goes beyond the season. One thing that has yet to be explained is why Logan, given he's such an idiot yet who's still the Prez of the most poweful nation in the world, wanted to side with Romano the bald puppetmaster. A superficial reason would be about securing oil in the middle east, and to do that Logan worked on the treaty with the Russians to form a framework which is designed to give a pretext to justify the US involvement in case of terrorisim against US or Russian interest. The US conspirators gave help to the Russian terrorits to coduct terrorism in Russia so that the scenario assumed in the treaty would materiarize. Looks like Henderson, Romano and Logan were all behind this, but they couldn't fully trust each other, which is why Henderson didn't destroy the recording when he had a chance, for example. Meanwhile, what was exactly the role of Bierko? He's supposedly a Russan terrorist who wanted to wreck havoc in Russia, yet ended up attacking the US, which might have been part of the plot all along, in which case he was probably working for one of those bad guys. Aside from all these questions, who would be the beneficiary after all? I guess it's about the military contract once Henderson was involved in when he was with CTU. Logan wanted to be at the center of massive defense program which would be justfied thanks to the teaty and the terrorism. Now that not only this plan is failing but also Logan's chance of survival is fading, the conspirators will try to do something devastating out of desperation, like starting a real war, which utimaltely falis thanks to Jack and Chloe's super heroic efforts, during which process a whole lot of people get killed and even get eaten by a couger. Anway, that's my guess..
